Lifebox is a product being developed to solve the problem of heart transportation and storage for the purpose of being transplanted. With current technology, the heart storage time is around two and a half hours. With an active cooling and perfusion system with real-time monitoring, this can be significantly extended to 6 hours to enable the heart to reach locations much farther away.
